The Pro Democracy Association (APD – the initiator of the project since 2007), the Chamber of Deputies and the Hanns Seidel Romania Foundation organize, at the Parliament Palace, between 8 and 10 December 2017, the Youth Parliament – 9th edition, a simulation of the decision-making process within Romanian Parliament held on political groups, parliamentary committees, as well as in plenary.
Through this project, the organizers aim to give young people the opportunity to understand the importance, role and functions of Parliament in other democratic institutions, familiarize themselves with the doctrines of parliamentary political parties, provide a practical insight into what parliamentary activity really is.
The event is aimed at young high school students (adults) and students up to 26 years old.
Why attend this event? Because you have the opportunity:
  • To become a deputy for three days and to carry out your (simulation) activity right inside the Parliament in the Chamber of Deputies;
  • To propose its own legislative project that can be debated and voted in the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies;
  • Practice teamwork and develop your negotiation skills;
  • To experiment and participate in the work of parliamentary groups, in specialized committees and in plenary;
  • To vote on bills right in the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies as a true parliamentarian;
  • To become for a day the President or Vice-President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Youth Parliament;
  • Meet other young people like you, make friends and exchange experiences;
  • And last but not least, to choose your profession in the future inspired by the exercise of this project.

Young people who want to participate in this event can register by filling in the registration form, submitting the CV and developing a legislative initiative through the electronic form. The documents will be sent only in electronic format (pdf) until November 26 a.c., at 23:59.
The selection of candidates will be based on the score obtained based on the CV and a legislative initiative that young people must propose when registering for the event, according to the Parliamentary Committees of the Chamber of Deputies established by the organizers:
Commission on Human Rights, Religious Affairs and National Minority Issues;
Commission for the Investigation of Abuses, Corruption and Petitions;
Committee on Labor and Social Protection;
Committee on Culture, Arts, Mass Media.

During the whole event APD will provide participants with meals, and for people outside Bucharest the organizers will provide accommodation (2 nights accommodation December 8-9) and return transport (bus, train – class II, petrol voucher according to calculation 7 ,5%)
Due to the fact that students have free train, the ticket for this means of transport will not be reimbursed to the students).
